ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Where Every Note Tells a Story

Mid-Atlantic Sounds is The Marching Elite Foundation's non-competitive instrumental wind program, designed to give youth ages 9–19 a welcoming, structured environment to discover and develop their musical voice. From the bold resonance of a sousaphone to the bright clarity of a trumpet or the soulful tone of a saxophone, every instrument in the wind section has a role to play — and every player has a place in our ensemble.

Unlike our competitive programs, Mid-Atlantic Sounds places the emphasis squarely on musical development, personal growth, and community. Students learn proper technique, music theory fundamentals, and ensemble playing in a supportive setting guided by experienced instructors who are passionate about youth development through music.

The program feeds directly into the Elite All-Stars Marching Band, giving students a clear pathway from beginner to advanced performer. Many of our most accomplished alumni began their TME journey right here in Mid-Atlantic Sounds, learning their first scales and eventually marching on national and international stages.

No prior musical experience is required. If you have a desire to play an instrument and a commitment to showing up and putting in the work, Mid-Atlantic Sounds will meet you exactly where you are and take you further than you imagined.

YOUR TME JOURNEY

Many of our most accomplished performers started right here, learning their first notes and scales before going on to perform at major venues and competitions across the country. Your journey to the national stage starts with a single note.
