Richmond and Central Virginia families are making the 2-hour drive to Baltimore for TME — and they'll tell you it's worth every mile. The HBCU majorette tradition, national DCI competition, and a program that grows with your child from age 6 to adult simply doesn't exist in Central Virginia.
What Richmond & Central Virginia Doesn't Have — TME Does
Richmond has a vibrant HBCU culture and strong school band programs, but independent community youth programs offering the full TME experience — competitive drumline, HBCU majorette dance, color guard, and brass all under one roof — are not available locally.
The Marching Elites in Hampton, VA focuses on the Tidewater area and operates a different model. For Richmond families who want national DCI competition exposure and HBCU-rooted programming in a community nonprofit setting, TME in Baltimore is the premier option within a 2-hour radius.
Built for Families Who Travel
We designed our schedule so that families from Richmond & Central Virginia can fully participate without a daily commute. Weekend rehearsals are the core commitment; virtual lessons fill the gaps.
